Gravity Retaining Walls
Easy and efficient to install, the Gravity Wall System has been the core of our business since our establishment in 2000. Our gravity walls can be completed in any of our textures enhancing the aesthetic of any project.

What is a Gravity Retaining Wall?
A gravity retaining wall system relies solely on the mass of the blocks to resist the earth pressure behind the wall. With an industry leading number of block depths, and Recon’s solid block system, our gravity wall is one of the most efficient ways to maximize usable space and hold soil back. Our Gravity Wall System can achieve heights of over 25 feet (7m) and is a great way to fit tall walls in small spaces.

Retaining Wall Block
Recon gravity blocks represent the workhorse of the wall system. With a 1” (2.54cm) setback per course and ranging in depth from 24” (61cm) to 84” (213.4cm) (custom depths up to 132” (335.3cm)), proper wall performance and design can be achieved in a variety of conditions.
Site Geometry
In addition to wall heights, lengths, and layout, site-plans (grading plans) offer additional information about adjacent structures, surcharges, site access, property lines, utility locations and site drainage.
Wall Geometry
The geometry will be dictated by the specifics of the project site and topography. Geometry for each wall generally consists of: wall length, wall height and the location of corners and curves.
Soils Information
Soil is one of the main components of the struction. Soils come in numerous types and compositions. Therefore, Soil properities are used in the wall analysis to predict a wall’s overall performance.

Retaining Wall Block
Recon gravity blocks, with an 8” (20.3cm) setback per course, range in depth from 24” (61cm) to 84” (213.4cm). The additional setback allows for taller gravity walls using shallower overall block depths while still ensuring proper performance and design.

Retaining Wall Block
Recon gravity blocks, using a combination of 8”(20.3cm) and 1” (2.54cm) setback, create a variable setback or custom batter. Blocks range in depth from 24” (61cm) to 84” (213.4cm) and the variable setback option allows for taller gravity walls that utilize shallower block depths.

Reasons to Choose a Recon Gravity Wall System
Limit Excavation
Recon’s system is ideal for small spaces where there is no room for a grid and it is imperative to limit excavation and maximize space.
Solid Block System
Recon’s system efficiently utilizes gravity and the weight of concrete.
Installation Efficiency
Recon’s system can be installed quickly and effectively across numerous applications.
