The Legacy Castle in Hewitt, New Jersey, is a venue known for its grandeur and architectural elegance—making it a fitting location for a carefully designed, high-end retaining wall solution. For this prestigious project, Recon’s Weathered Edge Block was selected to meet both the structural and aesthetic needs of the site.
Produced by Northeast Concrete Products, the Recon blocks featured a textured, natural stone appearance that aligned perfectly with the classic and luxurious design vision of The Legacy Castle. The engineering design was led by Titan Engineers PC, while the construction was carried out by the experienced team at Mike Fitzpatrick and Son, Inc.
The use of the Weathered Edge Block brought an old-world stone look with the advantages of modern precast concrete technology. These large wet-cast blocks offer not only visual appeal but also exceptional strength and durability—key considerations for a property that serves as a top-tier wedding and event venue.
From design to execution, every phase of the project was handled with attention to detail. The wall’s design required seamless integration with the site’s layout while enhancing the overall landscape architecture of the castle grounds. Titan Engineers worked closely with the construction team to ensure the Recon system was implemented to its full potential—offering both retaining performance and visual harmony with the existing structures.
This project is a strong example of how Recon’s large block retaining wall systems can be used not only for functional support but also to enhance the aesthetic appeal of high-profile, luxury developments. The Legacy Castle’s retaining walls now contribute to the majestic setting that defines the venue—elevating the experience for every guest.
